Submit Your Manuscript
Author-first publishing built on trust, transparency, and creative ownership.
Your Work Remains Yours
All submitted works remain the sole intellectual property of their authors. Submission does not transfer ownership, rights, or exclusivity. Nothing happens silently or without record. Your submission is timestamped, traceable, and protected.
We protect the integrity of your original submission. Submitted works are stored using cloud-native methodologies that ensure version control, immutability, and redundancy. Your original file remains unaltered. We will never overwrite, modify, or replace an author's submitted work without explicit written authorization.
What Happens After You Submit
We believe in transparency at every stage. Here's exactly what happens after you submit your manuscript:
Submission Received
Your submission is timestamped and securely logged in our system. You receive immediate confirmation via email with your submission reference number.
Internal Review
Your manuscript enters our secure review queue. We evaluate genre fit, editorial quality, and alignment with our active imprints.
Decision & Communication
You receive direct communication with one of three outcomes: acceptance for publishing consideration, revision recommendations, or respectful decline with brief feedback.
Next Steps
If accepted, we discuss publishing path options, contract terms, timelines, and editorial process. Nothing moves forward without your informed agreement.
Submission Requirements
Manuscript Status
Your manuscript should be complete or substantially complete. We are selective but supportive—editorial development is part of what we offer, so it does not need to be professionally edited before submission.
Genre Alignment
We publish paranormal romance, dark romance, epic fantasy, LitRPG, horror, thriller, and romantasy through our five imprints: Moonbound Press, Obsidian Veil, Iron Quill, Crimson Ink, and Starfire Press. Review our imprints to confirm alignment.
Manuscript Length
We accept manuscripts between 65,000 and 120,000 words. This range reflects industry standards for the fantasy and romance genres we publish and ensures quality production within our digital-first publishing model.
Originality & Rights
By submitting, authors affirm that their work is original, that they hold the rights to submit it, that it does not infringe upon existing copyrighted material, that it was not generated by AI, and that it is not currently under consideration by or under contract with another publisher.
Submissions may be evaluated for originality as part of our review process. This protects both your work and our publishing standards.
Language
We currently accept manuscripts written in English only. All submissions must be in English.
Disqualification Criteria
To maintain publishing standards and protect both authors and our business, certain types of submissions cannot be accepted. Understanding these criteria before submission saves time for everyone involved.
Previously Published Work
We do not publish work that has been previously released elsewhere—whether through traditional publishing, self-publishing, or digital platforms. This includes work published under a different title or pen name.
Exception: Partial teasers or sample chapters posted on platforms like Wattpad are acceptable, provided the work is not substantially complete or fully available to readers.
Simultaneous Submissions
We do not accept manuscripts that are currently under consideration by other publishers or under contract with another publishing house. You must withdraw your submission from all other publishers before submitting to BloodTie Publishing.
If you receive an offer from another publisher while your manuscript is under our review, you must notify us immediately.
Plagiarism & Copyright Violations
We do not accept work that contains plagiarized content, copyrighted material used without permission, or substantial portions copied from other sources.
Submissions are evaluated for originality as part of our review process. Detected plagiarism results in immediate disqualification and may be reported.
Fan Fiction & Derivative Works
We do not publish fan fiction or works derived from existing copyrighted universes (Harry Potter, Marvel, Star Wars, etc.) without explicit rights or licensing agreements.
This includes works with "filed off serial numbers"—fan fiction rewritten to remove trademarked names but still clearly derivative of copyrighted source material.
AI-Generated Content
We do not accept manuscripts that were generated by AI or contain substantial AI-generated prose. All submitted work must be written by human authors.
AI-assisted tools (grammar checkers, outlining software, research assistance) are acceptable. AI-generated prose is not.
Substantially Incomplete Work
We do not accept manuscripts with missing chapters, placeholder text, unfinished narratives, or incomplete story arcs. Your manuscript should have a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Works requiring minor revisions or editorial development are acceptable. Works missing substantial portions of the narrative are not.
Unmarketable Quality Issues
While we provide editorial development, we cannot publish manuscripts with error density or prose quality issues so severe they render the work unmarketable.
Manuscripts requiring substantial line-by-line rewriting, grammatical reconstruction, or fundamental prose development will be declined.
Genre Misalignment
We only publish genre fiction aligned with our five imprints: paranormal romance, dark romance, epic fantasy, LitRPG, horror, thriller, and romantasy.
We do not publish non-fiction, literary fiction, contemporary romance (without paranormal elements), science fiction (unless LitRPG), or genres outside our publishing focus.
Content Policy Violations
We do not publish work containing hate speech, illegal content, or material that violates industry content standards or platform distribution policies.
Dark content, mature themes, and genre-appropriate violence are acceptable. Hate speech and illegal material are not.
Rights & Legal Issues
You must hold the legal rights to submit your work. Collaborative works, ghostwritten manuscripts, or work-for-hire projects require proof of rights ownership.
If your manuscript is co-authored, all authors must consent to submission and contract terms.
Automated Evaluation
Certain disqualification criteria can be identified through automated systems as part of our initial review process. This includes plagiarism detection, copyright violation scanning, fan fiction identification, AI-generation detection, language verification, and word count validation.
These automated systems protect both your work and our publishing standards. Detection of disqualifying factors is handled professionally and confidentially.
